The secret stairs that Barack Obama used to get around the White House after leaving the Oval Office have been exposed.
A video posted on Twitter shows a man who claims to be Biden’s Secret Service agent walking through the stairs on his own, without a protective vest.
He says Biden is “not afraid of heights”.
It is unclear whether the man is a security guard or an employee of the Secret Service, but the video has attracted attention in recent days.
Biden’s Secret Services agent also claims that he has been asked by a “good friend” to make sure the stairs are secure.
The agent is seen walking down the stairs with a pair of gloves on his head, but no protective vest is visible.
Secret Service spokesman Matt McLaughlin told The Irish News that the agency has not received any complaints about the man’s claims.
“I think it’s a testament to his courage that he chose to do this and share it with the world,” he said.
The video has also been shared on social media, sparking debate about the Secret Services’ security protocols.
The stairs have been in use for nearly three decades, and Biden was sworn in as president on January 20, 2009.
“If you’re not familiar with the Secret Serviceman and the Secret Soldier, they are the men who are on the front lines of protecting America,” Biden said.
“They are the ones who have to carry that heavy duty gear, and they’re the ones that take care of their families and their families’ families.”
The Secret Service is currently reviewing the footage to see if there are any issues.
There is no official count of the number of people who have walked on the Secret Soldiers’ Secret stairs.
