The teen who wrote the suicide note to his mother has told the family he will be “a normal man” and “not worry about the consequences of my actions,” the boy’s stepfather said.
“I love you all and I’ll do whatever you need me to do to help you get through this.”
The note, which was written by the 17-year-old boy to his 16-year‑old mother, was sent to the family on May 6, according to a statement from the boy and his father, who declined to be identified because he was not allowed to speak to the media.
“I just want to say, you will always have my love,” the teen’s father wrote.
“This is not a threat.
I don’t have to do anything, you know.
I will be your son forever.”
The teen wrote that he was “struggling” to cope with the loss of his mother and siblings, but had to make “every effort to find happiness.”
The family has been notified of the death, the statement said.
