The Playhouse, which opened last year, will replace the old Playhouse Pavilion on the convention center’s west side.
The Pavilion, which closed in 2011, will be replaced with a brand new $1.5 billion complex that will include restaurants, retail and hotels.
The new complex is expected to open in 2018, although no date has been announced.
