The first time I saw my mum’s house I was just as confused as I am now about how to make the most of it.
“It was a little bit of a shock to see it for the first time, but once I’d got used to the size and scale of it, it felt really lovely,” she says.
So how do you make it yours?
As you might expect, the process involves a bit of planning and a bit more elbow grease.
The first step is to decide where you want to live, and you might not know where you are in the world until you’re actually there.
For this reason, you need to be flexible and know where your home may be.
If you’re living in a city, ask around to find out what’s available and what the rental market is like.
“In my experience, it’s cheaper in places like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra,” Ms Macfarlane says.
“You can save a lot of money by renting a small house or an apartment, which has the same space and amenities as a large house.
In most states, you’ll find it’s more affordable to rent a small home than a large one.
You can also consider whether you want a small town, which means a lot more of your time is spent living in one place.
A few years ago, we moved to Sydney to live in the suburbs.
We were happy with our living arrangement, but when we moved out we realised we didn’t really need a large home, so we bought a small cottage and moved in for the winter.
This helped us to spend a lot less time indoors and spend more time outdoors and outdoors on the water.
It was an amazing experience and we have been happily re-living it ever since.”
You can choose your place based on a few factors, including where you’ve lived before, what you like to do outdoors and what’s nearby.
As with any move, you can find out which area of your property you want based on where you live.
And you can even get a local guide who will help you make a decision on where to live.
But if you’re new to the area, Ms MacFarlane says it can be hard to tell what is right for you.
When you’re in your first year of living in the area it can feel like a new place, she says, and it can also be hard finding people you can connect with, especially if you have a different personality type.
“We all get that sense of feeling isolated when we move to a new city, and so we try to make it as easy as possible for us to find people that we can chat with, get to know and even meet,” she explains.
However, there are certain things that you can’t live without and some of the most popular ones are: a warm, sunny, quiet and peaceful environment, a nice backyard and an inviting walkway.
There are also some things you’ll need to do to make your move a little easier: get a rental contract, buy some food and furniture and do a bit on your own.
There are plenty of other great things you can do if you decide to live on your home, such as renovate and decorate your kitchen, kitchen cabinet and garden.
